Gravel King Technology:
  • ZSG (Zero Slip Grip) natural rubber compound provides consistent performance through a wide range of temperatures and wears well
  • AX-alpha (Advanced Extra Alpha Cord) Strong very thin cords are tightly woven to encapsulate the tire for greater resistance to cutting but still stay supple
  • Anti-Flat (Anti-Flat Casing) Bead-to-bead, the entire tire reinforced for puncture and cut resistance

The SS feature an all-new tread pattern consisting of a smoother, diamond pattern center with more aggressive side lugs. This tread pattern allows the rider to keep speed going into corners and maintain control throughout any transition a gravel ride could present. The GravelKing SS incorporates a supple 126 TPI casing with a nylon puncture resistant belt and Panaracer’s proprietary ZSG (Zero Slip Grip) compound.

Tubeless delight

Only three modest rides so far, but the GK SS 43s feel really nice. Using tubeless, about 35 psi. Dry gravel and pavement. Removed some 38 Rene Herse ultralights because the sidewalls were getting shreded. Expected a duller ride--but pleasantly surprised. Mounting was easiest tubeless ever---popped immediately with compressor. (I set them in sun for 30 minutes after unfolding, and rim was still moist.). Ride is supple. Tread is quiet on pavement. Durability remains to be seen, but they feel really durable.

I really like these GravelKing SS tires. I ride gravel access roads just to get to asphalt and these tires are great on both. They seem pretty durable so I purchased a second set. Bikesmiths had great pricing, an easy order process and fast order fulfillment. Couldn’t ask for better.

I only ride Panaracer tires on my gravel bike: either SS, EXT or Slick…you cannot go wrong with Panaracer tires. In fact, I just had a very success SBT Grvl race yesterday using GravelKing SS 38 tires!
